"Raiders of The Lost Ark," Co-Star Masters the Art of Storytelling in Mysterious Tale Written by Carson McCullers

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 15, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The award-winning short film "A Tree, A Rock. A Cloud," based on the story by Carson McCullers, marks the film directorial debut of acclaimed New York based actress and theatre director Karen Allen (Raiders of The Lost Ark, Starman). The film will be available to stream on global digital HD internet and satellite platforms beginning August 15, 2022 . It will be distributed in partnership with Turn Key Distribution for PPV platforms and Kanopy Distribution for Libraries, Universities and High School streaming platforms .

Based on the original short story by groundbreaking southern American writer Carson McCullers, written when she was just 25, the film, "A Tree. A Rock. A Cloud," is set at a roadside café in the early morning in the Spring of 1947. A young boy and an older man meet by chance. The man relates a luminous tale of personal heartbreak and loss, and of his hard won understanding of the nature of love. "Karen Allen succeeded in running the sensitive snippets and flavors of McCullers' story through a camera and they came out complete. It is a rare achievement," said Cathren Housley in her Motif review of the film at Flickers Rhode Island Film Festival.

The film received the prize for Best International Short at the Manchester Film Festival in England, along with numerous other awards. The ensemble cast features Jeffrey DeMunn (The Green Mile, Billions) , James McMenamin (Orange is the New Black) and marks the debut of Jackson Smith. The film is produced by Karen Allen, Diane Pearlman and Cardinal Flix. Production Designer is Kristi Zea and Director of Photographer is Richard Sands.
