For the third consecutive year, the RONA Rookies program helps local communities make sport more accessible

BOUCHERVILLE, QC, Oct. 8, 2026 /CNW/ -- RONA inc., one of Canada's leading home improvement retailers, operating and servicing over 425 corporate and affiliated stores, announced today that 150 minor hockey teams were selected as part of the RONA Rookies program's third edition. Once again this year, RONA will support teams that include the children and grandchildren of members of its network.

Launched in the fall of 2024, the RONA Rookies program is a testament to the company's commitment to supporting families and young people in Canadian communities by making minor hockey more accessible. The program ties in with RONA's longtime interest in hockey and its desire to contribute to the vitality of the communities in which it operates.

The RONA Rookies: Promoting Access to Hockey

For its third edition, the RONA Rookies program will help make hockey more accessible to kids aged between 4 and 17 by providing each of the 150 minor hockey teams with a $3,000 sponsorship, which includes:

• A $1,000 grant that can be used to take part in tournaments or fund other team activities;
• Apparel featuring the team logo and the RONA logo;
• Fan accessories to promote and support team spirit.
