On September 11, 2026, Dr. Wong taught prone lateral transpsoas lumbar spinal fusion to surgeons from around the country at the Globus course in San Diego. The prone lateral transpsoas approach reaches the lumbar spine from the side while the patient is positioned face down, which gives the surgeon simultaneous 360-degree control and correction of a spinal deformity in a single position rather than requiring the patient to be repositioned partway through the operation. Pairing the approach with robotic navigation allows implants to be placed according to a plan mapped before the first incision.
